Digital Safety

Understanding your digital footprint can be a helpful tool in protecting yourself from individuals who may try to use your online activity to harm or monitor you. Online activity can sometimes leave traces such as browsing history, saved passwords, or login records. Being mindful of what information is stored on your device can help reduce the chances of someone discovering your activity or accessing personal information.

Safe Exit Button

Your safety matters! This website includes a Safe Exit button to help you quickly leave the page if you need to hide your visit.

A Safe Exit button is always available in the corner of the screen on every page, and you can also use the button above. When pressed, it will immediately redirect your browser to a neutral website so you can leave this page quickly and discreetly.

While this feature helps you exit quickly, it cannot completely remove all traces of browsing activity. Depending on your device or browser settings, some information may still be recorded.

To help protect your privacy, you may wish to:

  • Use private or incognito browsing

  • Clear your browser history regularly

  • Avoid using shared devices when possible

Being mindful of browser settings and device access can help reduce the chances of someone seeing your activity.

Tips for Staying Safer Online

Use Private Browsing

Private or incognito browsing modes prevent your browser from saving history, cookies, and temporary files after your session ends.

Use a Safe Device

If possible, use a device that only you control. Public computers, such as those in libraries or community centers, may be safer options.

Avoid Shared Accounts

Shared accounts (such as email, cloud storage, or streaming services) can sometimes reveal browsing or activity history.

Clear Your Browser History

Regularly clearing your browser history, cookies, and cached files can help remove traces of websites you have visited.

Create Private Accounts

Consider creating a separate email account for accessing support resources that only you know about. Use a strong, unique password that only you know and don't write it down anywhere.

Protect Your Devices

Use passcodes, fingerprint locks, or facial recognition to prevent others from accessing your phone or computer.
